Where did all my followers go?!?

For the past five years my follower count on X has stagnated at around 10,600.

A closer audience analysis reveals that over half of my followers have been dormant on X for over a year. Although they haven’t posted anything, they might still be seeing the posts, but I doubt it, given the abysmally low view count on each post.

While the number of accounts going dormant has been around 250 each year, the attrition has accelerated over the past two years. (I wonder why?!)
Today only 3,200 of my followers on X have been active and posting since the beginning of the year.

While I can live with my shrinking audience and only three likes per post on average — X says “10 likes is a lot” — I can’t help but think that X is in terminal decline.📉
